ECOLOGICAL PLANNING AND ASSESSMENT

NJ TRANSIT Mid-Line Loop Project Study, North Brunswick, Middlesex County, NJ. Managed all environmental task activities for this Concept Development study to add rail capacity and functionally to the Northeast Corridor. Specifically, reviewed existing published information from a variety of data sources, conducted field reconnaissance to assess potential impacts for a wide range of resources; evaluated a range of alignment alternatives and determined NEPA documentation requirement and assess permitting risks.

Western Boulevard Extension, Berkley Township, Ocean County, NJ. Managed the environmental screening activities to evaluate the impacts for the proposed extension of Ocean County Road 85 from Northern Boulevard to State Highway 9 on a range of resources including: Cultural Resources (Archeological and Historic Architecture), Section 4(f) Properties (Recreational and Historic), Section 4(f) Properties (Recreational and Historic), wetlands, and hazardous materials. Developed constraint mapping and prepared the environmental screening report to support the determination of NEPA classification and documentation.

Route 4 & Palisades Avenue Feasibility Assessment, Bergen County, New Jersey. Identified and evaluated environmentally-sensitive resources including wetlands and Green Acres encumbered properties. Determination of permitting needs and coordination of activities with jurisdictional agencies and stakeholders.

Routes 34/537 Feasibility Assessment, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Identified and evaluated environmentally-sensitive resources; determined permitting requirements, and developed alternative analysis matrix to support selection of the Initially Preferred Alternative (IPA).

Route 287/78, I-287/202/206 Interchange Improvements, Somerset County, NJ. Managed preparation of NEPA Categorical Exclusion Document including preparation of technical environmental studies ecology and wetlands, hazardous waste, socioeconomic, EJ, historic architecture and archeology, determination of need for air, noise studies.

Ocean Drive Improvement Project, Cape May County, NJ. Coordinated environmental activities including preparation of NEPA Environmental Assessment (EA), preparation of wetlands and ecology technical studies, which included assessment of floodplain, vegetation, and wildlife, Section 4(f) documentation, development of mitigation strategies for impacts to wide range of resources, preparation of all federal and state permits and agency coordination activities.
